Specializing in mouthwatering pizza creations alongside an extensive beer selection, this beloved spot invites visitors and locals alike to indulge in an unforgettable dining adventure.
The menu at Slackwater Pizza SLC is a delightful tapestry of bold and innovative dishes that break the mold of traditional pizza restaurants. Whether you're drawn to the fresh, bright notes of the Margherita Pizza served with a tangy balsamic reduction on the side or craving the hearty comfort of the Iron Horse Calzone, there's something to ignite every palate. Their standout bestseller, the California Sunrise Pizza, perfectly balances creamy green goddess dressing, roasted chicken, peppered bacon, seasoned grape tomatoes, and fresh sliced avocado, all drizzled with a luscious green goddess sauce — a truly vibrant explosion of flavors that sparkles with each bite.
For those seeking a spicy kick, the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and Cardiac Arrest Pizza deliver a fiery punch complemented by layers of cheese and carefully curated toppings. Snack lovers will appreciate the shareable Nate's Buffalo Wings that boast just the right amount of crisp and tang, or the addictive Cheese Sticks and Diablo Sticks, perfect for pairing with one of their many craft IPAs or other specialty brews. The salad selections, including the rich and refreshing Green Goddess and the cleverly named Cobb Web, offer a crisp counterbalance to their indulgent counterparts.
One cannot discuss Slackwater without noting its approachable yet buzzing atmosphere. Customers frequently comment on the lively bar scene — a welcoming space that encourages socializing, whether you're on a casual date, enjoying a night out with friends, or simply looking to unwind after a long day. The fast, friendly service complements the energetic environment, making waiting times feel like part of the overall excitement rather than a drag. Ally from Florida describes the experience perfectly: the place was “buzzing” and the staff efficient, making even a bustling evening comfortable and enjoyable.
The depth of their beverage program is another pillar of the Slackwater experience. With an impressive and rotating selection of craft beers — including a staggering number of non-alcoholic options — enthusiasts can always discover something new. Jackson Smith raves about their beer menu, noting it as the “largest beer selection around.” This thoughtful curation elevates the dining experience, ensuring pizza and beer lovers find their perfect match.
What rounds out the menu are a handful of inspired surprises like the Mulligatawny Soup, which echoes a nostalgic nod to Seinfeld with its rich yellow curry cream, roasted chicken, and apples, and the delicate yet zesty brunch offerings like the Classic Eggs Benny and the vegetarian-friendly Vegtastic Voyage. These options demonstrate Slackwater’s commitment to catering to a wide range of tastes and meal occasions.

As Krynn Jorgensen says after her visit: “I will definitely be back to this place!”
I visited here from Florida to meet my long distance boyfriend for the first time, we got an airbnb down town so you can just walk here! The place was buzzing and there is a waitlist but they were fast, we were gonna do take out but then decided to sit at the bar and they brought us our pizza. We ordered cheese sticks too and some ipas, sooo good. The service was really fast too. Also I have to comment on the decor and art all over, brings the place to life and such a chill vibe. I love the local artists sticker machine, so cool to see this city support local artists! Very surprised by how good the pizza was! So many options to choose from too. No wonder the place was bumping! I highly recommend, an I’ll be back in November to visit again! Can’t wait! So glad I found this gem! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!
Well you can tell by the picture that it was frigging delicious!! The chicken wings were so tasty and had a little crisp to them and that pizza, Sparta, was amazing. Perfect light, crisp crust and so flavorful!! I will definitely be back to this place! Huge beer selection and friendly service. Was starting to get busy when we got there right around 5, so joined waitlist but ended up finding a couple stools at the bar and by the time we left the waitlist was quite long I'm sure. Definitely a busy place but oh so worth it.
Best pizza resturant in all of Utah and the largest beer selection around. The drink menu changes all the time and they even have around 6-12 NA beer options as well. The California Sunrise is to die for and their wings are cooked to perfection.
We decided to try this because we saw the review on barstool. We had a wait time of about 40 minutes. Honestly I’m fine with that though, I was excited to try a new place. Our group opened with the spinach artichoke dip. The chips were good quality and tasty, except we all felt that they could use some salt. We all agreed that the dip was incredible, I would recommend giving it a shot. My wife and I shared a pepperoni hot honey pizza and a southern comforts pizza. We think the barstool guy nailed his review. The crust was crunchy and very well made, possibly the best I’ve had. It was also light, which was nice. The cheese wasn’t our favorite, and we had mixed opinions on toppings. My wife thought they were sparse but I thought the quantity was perfect. The quality was fine but I was hoping for something more after our wait. Overall, I would recommend giving this place a shot. I don’t think I’ll be coming here if there’s another long wait, but I’d for sure get takeout. The service was great, no complaints, and the atmosphere is top tier.
Super good. I got the Hot Honey Double Pepperoni pizza, and it was delicious. It had a really good crust that had a lushious layer of hot honey on the top of the pizza. The employees and servers were excellent as well. 5 stars!
I've heard so much great about Slackwater, and honestly it was pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the "Best Pizza ive ever had" but for the vibes, the beer, and the huge # of creative options, it's pretty awesome. Beer selection is pretty un paralled for SLC. I had a Hot honey Pepperoni, and my partner had the California (i think it was called). Pizzas are personal pan style, and maybe thats what separates it from other places. The dough is good the topping are good, but something about a small slice that doesn't have the full spectrum of a regular sized pie. The cheese pull, the undercarriage, all that stuff, ya know? We also had these spicy cranberry Hot wings that were money! Season menu item, and very good. All that being said, I would recommend checking this spot out. Foods good, beers great, vibes are high!
We ate here on a Thursday at 5 o’clock and it was already busy. Which is a good indicator for how good the food was. I got the California pizza and it was great. My wife got the Cobb salad good. The service was great. Our server got us the food quickly. There are several other pizzas on the menu that I would like to try. We will have to come back again a few times to try them out.
My wife & I had dinner at SLACKWATER at 7pm on a Friday. When we arrived the host told us that there would be an hour & 25 minute wait for a table, but if seats at the bar opened up we could sit there. We were very very lucky to see 2 people leaving the bar & we took their seats. The bartender was friendly. we shared a SANTA FE SALAD, THE BUTTERNUT PIZZA, (with butternut squash sauce, sausage, shallots, a three-cheese blend, and goat cheese crumbles), a RED ROCK DOUBLE IPA, and the TASTES LIKE BURNING pizza (with spicy marinara, three-cheeses, pepperoni, roasted chipotle, red onions, roasted garlic, & jalapeños). These 12" pizzas are incredible. The crust was cooked perfectly and tasted like honey. the beer was delicious. We were told about SLACKWATER by an employee named Journey, and can say that this was one of the best meals we had on our 10 day road trip vacation. We spent $81.23 tip included. If I lived near SLC I would eat here all the time.
